Understanding Applied “Apostolic” Function

The apostles set order to the entire kingdom culture. They train people to live the lifestyle of kingdom citizens and set those who refuse outside the gates. They provide blueprints for building what the King wants to be built in a region or nation. They have a schematic by which to set the plumb line for all that goes on in the Name of Jesus within that measurable and defined scope of leadership.

Why Unity Eludes Us

The picture Jesus and Paul paint points to a schematic for the whole of the kingdom to move together as a matrix of ministries. It is a spiritual ecosystem built to function as an ekklesia in a spiritual kingdom.

Deacons and Deaking

Once you get past the odd rendering of Acts 6 in which the term “deacon” does not appear, you find that the case for deacons as officers or leaders falls apart. The apostles said it was inappropriate to their assigned priorities to “wait tables. This term is certainly relating to the meaning of the word […]

God Groans

My friend’s father was a wayward pastor. He ran from a false accusation when pastoring a ministry very strict about its rules of behavior. Working on a house, he put a white pencil in his mouth while measuring a board to be cut to size, and a church leader, driving by, thought it was a […]

The Arrows That Remain

The king failed the passion test. The prophetic word did not produce deeper trust. Elisha says, “This word will never come to pass.” The king would never become the person who could receive the promise because he lacked a passion for finishing.

Christianity Without a Bible

The rise of a homosexual Presidential candidate has done what I predicted it would do: namely, change the subject of the campaign from socialism – a divisive and drop-dead loser for Democrats without a national leader – to the heart and faith foundations of our culture. Mayor Pete kissing his partner (I’m aware they are […]

Your Existing Root System

How should we understand “the cares of life” and “the deceitfulness of riches” as an existing root system that chokes the Word so that It does not produce what it was sown to produce? Jesus says this system exists before the seed falls upon this otherwise rich soil. This soil is producing something already, but […]

Potential and Intention

God’s Intentions Define My Purpose Clay Nash and I were having one of our insightful discussion over some post-conference meeting dining. I was pointing out that my idea that “potential is the greatest enemy of purpose,” and he mentioned that I should include the word “intention” in my discussion. Of course, he read the essentials […]

Jesus, The Logos

The Word was with God Jesus has always been. He has no beginning. His role as Son began the moment He received the scroll of the Father’s Eternal Purposes – a prophetic and visionary picture of an eternal condition presented through John in the Revelation of Jesus Christ that helps us picture a spiritual reality. […]

You Can Be Replaced

“You can be replaced.” The remainder of the discussion will center upon leaders filling empty places. I being with this statement because it applies to every leader as well as the quitters and traitors. Bring yourself to account for your leadership: do you have empty places you refuse to fill? Do not wait for God […]

Lawlessness: The Rebellion of Korah

Jude lists the way of Cain, the error of Balaam, and the rebellion of Korah as his way of identifying the infiltration of men “who have crept in unnoticed, those who were long beforehand marked out for this condemnation.” Jude says this behavior and leadership spirit has already been judged and condemned by God. These […]
